Anna A. Milonas TURNERS FALLS -- Anna A. (Hmieleski) Milonas, 92, of 72 Park St., died Friday (2-20-09) at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. She was born in Turners Falls on Nov. 16, 1916, the daughter of Ignatz and Anna (Ziejka) Hmieleski. She attended local schools in Turners Falls and had been a lifelong resident of Turners Falls. She married S. Henry Milonas on Nov. 16, 1938, in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Also, they share the same birthdate. Anna was a clerk for Wilson's Department Store for 15 years, retiring in 1965. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Anna enjoyed her home and family, oil painting and sketches, gardening and growing houseplants and in her younger years, traveling. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, S. Henry Milonas; two daughters, Constance A. Robert of Turners Falls and St. Croix, and Jeanne E. Prokowich of South Deerfield; a brother, Raymond Hmieleski of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Catherine Tallman, Wayne and David Robert, Sandra Bukowski and Lee Prokowich; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church with the Rev. Charles DiMascola, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
