Montague------Warren J. "Pee Vee" Pervere, 85, of Laurel Lane died Saturday (12-9-17) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.
He was born in Turners Falls on June 8, 1932 the son of James and Ruth (Cummings) Pervere. Pee Vee attended Greenfield Public Schools. He was a US Army Korean War veteran attaining the rank of corporal. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
Pee Vee was employed by Strathmore Paper Mill retiring as a millwright after many years.
He enjoyed polish music, was an avid Red Sox and Colts fan and managed the Millers Falls Drum and Bugle Corp. He also was a pitcher in the Montague Men’s Softball League.
He leaves his wife of 59 years the former Sylvia Pluta, his children Michael of Erving, Richard and his girlfriend Liana Pleasant of Montague and Michelle Cloutier and her husband Paul of Turners Falls, four grandchildren Nicole Pervere, Katie Ann Kurtyka and Anthony Kurtyka, Sara Maynard, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his brothers- in-law, Ronald Pluta and his partner Donna Scopa and Daniel Pluta and his wife Donna.
He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter-in-law Deb Pervere.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church 90 Seventh St. in Turners Falls. Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
A calling hour will be from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls.
