Winston LaBelle Obituary

The world lost a great man, Winston Michael LaBelle (age 81), with his children and grandchildren at his bedside at Franklin Medical Center on April 6, 2023.
He was born on December 30, 1941, in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, and was the son of Edmund and Grace (Samson) LaBelle and attended Buckland Schools and Arms Academy. He began his career at Kendall Mills, Northampton Volkswagen, and Warner Brothers Construction as a crane operator before the entrepreneurial portion of his career as the co-owner of LaBelle and Leitner, Inc., from which he retired in June 1997.
On February 1, 1964, he married his bride of 59 years Marie (Fischlein) LaBelle, and resided in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He was an avid golfer, card player, and traveler (especially to the casinos). He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, armchair coaching the Red Sox and the New England Patriots and taking on home projects. He was a parishioner of Blessed Trinity Parish and was often known for having a huge heart for his philanthropy and love of dogs.
He is survived by his wife Marie, three children Kevin J. LaBelle and his wife Jenifer of Erving, Massachusetts, Angela M. (LaBelle) Seymour of Lexington South Carolina, and Daniel A. LaBelle of Greenfield, Massachusetts; his 14 grandchildren Kyle LaBelle of Worcester, Massachusetts, Bryan LaBelle of Greenfield, Massachusetts, Maria LaBelle of Erving, Massachusetts, and Jakob Wilson of Turners Falls, Massachusetts; Taylor Seymour, Stephanie Seymour, David Seymour, Nicholas Seymour of Lexington, South Carolina; and Jucarrah LaBelle of Greenfield, Massachusetts, Ry-Ann LaBelle of Leyden, Massachusetts, and Mary LaBelle of Rhode Island. He is also survived by his brothers Paul LaBelle and Franklin LaBelle of Buckland, Massachusetts, and a sister Theresa (LaBelle) Saharaceski of Erving, Massachusetts. His parents and brothers Edmund LaBelle and John LaBelle predeceased him.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services and “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.
Donations can be made in his name to Blessed Trinity Parish 14 Beacon St. Greenfield MA 01301.
