Winifred A. (Gunn) Watson Obituary

Winifred Alice (Gunn) Watson ended a long life peacefully on November 23rd.  Wink (as she preferred to be called) was born on March 9, 1928, to George and Alice Gunn of Montague Center.  The second of four children, she attended local schools and went on to Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in Fitchburg, MA.  Upon graduation she commenced a nursing career that was cut short by illness in 1972. 
Wink married John Robert (Bob) Watson of North Leverett, MA in 1950.  They bought a house in Bernardston, MA in 1952 where they raised four children.  She continued to live there until 2021.
Wink was an active member of the United Church of Bernardston.  She enjoyed many hours volunteering for church suppers, fairs and other events.  She also volunteered at the Bernardston Senior Center.
Wink is predeceased by her parents, George and Alice Gunn, her husband, Bob Watson, brother David Gunn of Turners, sister Dorothy Hmieleski of South Deerfield, son Robert Watson of Gaithersburg, MD and daughter Betsey Tibbetts of Amherst, NY.  
Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Sandford and Fay Gunn, of Syracuse, NY, son and daughter-in-law George and Stephanie Watson of Bernardston, MA, daughter and son-in-law Laurie Rose and Brad Day of Malden, MA, son-in-law John Tibbetts of Amherst, NY, twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and nine nephews and nieces. 
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
