Wesley Clark Obituary

On June 17th Wesley “Wes” Clark died at Applewood Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, NH after a long 3-year struggle with illnesses.

Wes was born November 2, 1941, in Greenfield, to Harold and Mary Clark. He attended Greenfield schools, graduating from GHS in 1959 and shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Navy, serving on US air-craft carriers. He was honorably discharged in 1964.

Wes worked at Lunt Silversmith for 43 years. Some of his many jobs included work for Tiffany’s in NYC as well as creating Julep cups for the Kentucky Derby.

Wes dedicated 52 years to the B.P.O.E. 1296 Elks Lodge in Greenfield. During those years he held the office of Exalted Ruler (twice), District Deputy and Trustee for many years.

In his spare time Wes enjoyed traveling, going on numerous cruises. He also visited Bermuda, Hawaii-his favorite island was Maui, the Bahamas, New Orleans, Nashville, Aruba, Las Vegas and other vacation spots. Wes loved the outdoors so much that he could have happily spent his life in a shack with no running water. He hunted, fished, and loved 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. In his younger years he loved to ski. His love of camping took him to Vermont. As a child he was introduced to camping by his parents and eventually he and Sheila, his life partner, became seasonal campers in Newfane and Townsend, Vermont.  He and Sheila also vacationed for many summers at Lake Bomoseen in Castleton, Vermont.

Wes was an avid golfer and spent many years playing in and setting up for Lunt’s annual golf tournaments. He also belonged to an Elk’s league at the Meadows.

Wes could be a pain-in-the-butt at times, and he had a very dry sense of humor that occasionally got him in trouble. “Wes and I spent over 30 years together and I will miss him so much.”

Wes leaves Sheila, his life partner, a brother Ron Clark and his two children, Kim and Andy, a son Chris and a granddaughter. He was predeceased by his mom and dad.
