Walter P. Sokoloski, Jr.

Walter P. Sokoloski,Jr., 67, of South Cross Rd died Thursday July 20, 2023 at home. He was born in Turners Falls, August 26, 1955, the son of Walter Sr. and Natalie (Dresser) Sokoloski. Walter attended local schools and graduated from Smith Vocational School in Northampton.

He joined the US NAVY and served from June 1973 to May 1975.

He was very competitive and loved the challenge that came with winning pool tournaments. He loved all sports but especially baseball and football. Whenever the Red Sox or Patriots were playing, you could find him in front of a television with a cold beer. He relaxed by going for drives on country back roads and visiting Salisbury Beach. Music was his true love though. He played guitar and sang in many bands, including Chucky and The Dragons, 3rd and L, and Tracy n Company.

He leaves his daughters; Kelly Lakota and her husband Jeff of CT, Bonnie Sokoloski of Turners Falls, and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Cadence. Walter also leaves his brother Charles Sokoloski and his wife Sheryl of Turners Falls and his sister Jean Henderson and her husband Stephen of Conway plus several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday (8/7/23) at 4pm at Kostanski Funeral Home in Turners Falls.  Calling hours will be from 2pm until service time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Montague Elks following the memorial service.
