Steven P. Prunier, 62, of Pond Street, Greenfield died Wednesday May 8, 2024 at home.  
Steven was born in Greenfield on November 6, 1961, the third son of Raymond Prunier and Mary (MacNeil) Sweeley.  Steve attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1980. 
One of the many highlights of Steven’s life was serving in the US Army.   During that time, he was selected as a punter by the Georgia Doughboys (an Army “All Officer” football team) even though he was not an officer.  Upon his discharge, he moved back to Greenfield where he worked for several local construction companies over the years.  
Steven thoroughly enjoyed following Boston sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.  It is remarkable that he was able to attend numerous Bruce Springsteen concerts during the 1980’s and 90’s.  Steven was also an avid downhill skier who along with his buddies cherished his day trips to Mt Snow.  Living in Avon, Colorado allowed him to experience the slopes of Vail & Beaver Creek for a few years.  He enjoyed playing in the local men’s softball leagues as well.
Among his survivors, Steven leaves two brothers, William Prunier and his wife Susan of South Deerfield and David Prunier of Venice, Florida; his nephew, Billy Prunier; his niece, Kelly Ghiz; his Aunt Regis Johnston and her husband Ed; his companion and personal care aide, Marcie Rockwood and his extended Crocker family. 
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 5/14 at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. 
A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
