Stephen J. Bassett

Stephen J. Bassett, 70, of Fifth St. passed away Thursday November 17, 2022, at Greenfield Rehab. Steve was born October 25, 1952, in Turners Falls, the son of John “Jack” and Lenore (Varilly) Bassett. 
He attended local schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School.
Steve worked at the GTD for many years. He later worked for Reil Cleaning Service. He was an avid New York Giants, Red Sox and Celtics fan.
Steve leaves his wife, Renee Randall Bassett, a step-son Eric Bell, and his siblings; Gail Byrnes of Rowley, MA, Sheila Beck and her husband Rick of Auburn, NH, Thomas Bassett and his wife Bernadette of Windham ME, and Julie Pelletier and her husband Bob of Turners Falls. Steve also leaves his mother in-law Lettice Randall of Shelburne Falls, granddaughter Rei-Lynn, and brothers in-law, Stephan Randall of Turners Falls, Jesse Randall of Shelburne Falls plus many nieces and nephews and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be private and at the convenience of his family.
