Stanley better known by his childhood nick name “Huck” passed away Wednesday April 13, 2022, after suffering a stroke followed by a period of failing health.
Huck was born May 1, 1952, to the parents of Stanley Gmyrek and Pauline (Granger) Gmyrek Mastyle one of six children.
He grew up on the Erving side of Millers Falls. He attended Erving Elementary School and was a graduate of Mahar Regional High School class of 1970.
Huck was employed with Deerfield Plastics for 30 years, Vt. Cable Company and Kennametal of South Deerfield, retiring in2015.
Huck had a great sense of humor and was a wealth of knowledge with world events, history, and sports. He could have a conversation with anyone and always remember places, names, and dates of everyone’s milestones.
The adventurous one took a cross country motorcycle trip in his younger years and ventured in scuba diving. Huck enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cribbage, the lottery and attending local and professional sporting events.
Survivors include: sisters Linda Clark of Greenfield, Teena Kennan of South Lee, Tish Engerman of Greenfield, several cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Huck was predeceased by his parents, stepfather Ted Mastyle and brothers John and James (Chick) Gmyrek.
Services for Huck will be held Friday April 22,2022 at 6PM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4PM until time of services.
Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
