Stanley W. Lewandowski, 91, of Greenfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born on May 8, 1934, in South Deerfield, MA, he was the son of the late Walter and Rose Lewandowski.
Stanley proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran and carried his unwavering sense of duty, pride, and honor far beyond his years of service. He was a master carpenter and a true jack of all trades, he was known for his remarkable skill, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was building something from scratch or fixing what others couldn’t, Stanley always found a way.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Carolyn Lewandowski, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and family. Also preceded by his four brothers, Walter, Frank, Anthony and Billy.
Stanley leaves behind three devoted children: Stanley Lewandowski Jr. and his wife Jodi, along with their children: Stanley Lewandowski III, Bryan Lewandowski and his wife Marina, and their son Anthony. Stacie Lewandowski, her husband Brian, and their son Nathaniel. David Lewandowski and his daughters: Kelci, Keira and Katelyn, her husband Ryan Pachalis, and their children Brody, Avery, and Maverick. Patty and her husband Gerry, and their children Laina and Curtis.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law Harry Ruddock and his wife Mary of Deerfield, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
A special thank you to his dear neighbors, Michael and Cheryl Johnson, for their kindness, friendship, and unwavering support over the years.
Stanley was the life of the party, always ready with a laugh, a story, and a great smile that could light up any room. He loved polka dancing with his wife, playing cards, casino trips, cruises with friends, and family trips to Maine. He had a passion for snowmobiling, a gambler’s spirit and a generous heart, and his legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in all who knew him. His story is legendary, and his presence is irreplaceable.
Calling hours will be held Friday 6/13, starting at 10am until 12noon at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield, with a prayer service to be held at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery at the conclusion of the calling hours at 12noon.
