Sherwood "Skip" Lenois

Bernardston- Sherwood “Skip” F. Lenois, 77, of Church Street died Saturday 6/2/18 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born in Bernardston on January 17, 1941, the son of Alfred J. and Florence E. (Sisson) Lenois.  Skip attended local schools and was a 1958 graduate of the former Powers Institute in Northfield.

He joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduation and was honorably discharged in 1962. He was proud to be a marine and he lived his life Semper Fi.  He was a charter member of The Oak Ridge Detachment of the Marine Corps League, where he held many offices.

He was a supervisor at Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company for many years before his retirement.  Skip also worked for Cowan Auto Supply, Inc.

Among his survivors, Skip leaves his longtime companion of thirty eight years, Frances J. Petrin; his children, Kathy McCrory (Glenn) and grandchildren Jacob and Megan; Alfred Lenois (Sandy) and grandsons, Dylan and Ben; Robert Lenois (Victoria) and grandchildren, Tyler and Joseph; and Tina Gregg (Bruce), granddaughter, Kari and great grandchildren, Trevor and Maxon; Fran’s children whom he was very proud of and considered his own, Vincent Petrin (Yukiko) and grandson Yuki; and Michael Petrin and Max the pug. Skip also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Skip was predeceased by his infant daughter, Charlene Lenois, his parents, a brother, two sisters and Kent “Randy” Petrin.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be held at Center Cemetery in Bernardston at the convenience of the family.
