Shane E. Thayer, 55, of Northfield died Monday 12/2/24. He was born in Montague on February 25, 1969, the son of Paul A. Thayer and Carol (Boucher) (Thayer) Curtiss. Shane attended local schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1987. After graduation, Shane enlisted in the United States Navy.
Upon his honorable discharge, Shane continued his education at the Franklin County Technical School earning his Journeyman electrical license.
Shane was employed as an electrician at the Vermont Yankee Power Plant for many years both before and after its decommissioning.
Shane married Amie (Dane) Thayer. They recently celebrated twenty five years of marriage together.
Besides his beloved wife, Amie, Shane leaves a son, Patrick Thayer of Northfield; a son, Derek Thayer; four siblings; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday 12/10 from 4-7pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.
There will be no formal funeral services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
