Roland E. Knapp, 62, of Heather Court passed away Thursday (9-23-21) quietly at home surrounded by family. He was born in Montague, Ma on October 17, 1958, the son of Arthur and Violet (Coleman) Knapp. He attended local schools and graduated from Pioneer Valley High School. Roland was a truck driver most of his life and a school bus driver for F.M. Kuzmeskus Bus Company out of Shelburne Falls.
He loved being a bus driver ensuring the children would get to and from school safely. Roland loved to spend time with his grandchildren. On his days off he would spend as much time as he could with his childhood best friend Bradley Winship. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. On weekends he enjoyed watching the NASCAR races.
Roland leaves behind his daughter Cassie Knapp of Turners Falls, his stepson Corey Bryant of Pulaski, NY, and his grandchildren: Alysia, Kaleb, Nolyn, Kobe, Koden, Maylee, and Daxton. His brothers: Arthur Knapp of West Barnstable, Donald and Melody Knapp of Northfield, and Gary and Marian Knapp of Bernardston, plus several nieces and nephews. Roland also leaves his former wife Shelley Bryant. He was predeceased by his daughter Kara Knapp.
Graveside services at Green River Cemetery will be at a later time and date to be announced.
