Obituary
Rodney R. York, 85, of Old Sunderland Road died Friday 4/14/23 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born in Montague on June 12, 1937, the son of Richard and Lucille (Serrell) York. Rodney attended local schools in Montague.
He was a crane operator and auto mechanic at Highway Auto Salvage in Northampton.
He enjoyed fishing and reading and was a history buff.
Besides his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Claire (Emond) York, Rodney leaves two daughters, Marsha Potyrala of Montague and Nancy Stafford and her husband Brian of Montague; two grandsons, Aaron Stafford and his wife Rilee and Ethan Stafford and his wife Nicole; a great grandchild, Carson Stafford; five siblings, Nita Morris, Cindy Ross, and Gordon, Ritchard and Gary York; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Rodney was predeceased by his son in law, Walter Joseph Potyrala.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
