Robert “Bob” T. Stafford passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 at Greenfield Rehab and Nursing Center (formally Poet Seat). He was 89 years old.
Born in Northfield, MA on January 7, 1934 to Ernest A. Stafford and Dorothy “Dolly” Stafford. He grew up in Greenfield, MA where he attended Greenfield High School until 1952. After graduation he worked at Cambell’s fabrication where he discovered his talent for welding. He worked there until he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Hanau, Germany for two years. While in the service, he worked as a fabricator and welder. Here, he often helped other service members with welding projects and with anything else he could help with. When Bob was discharged, he continued to weld, finding various welding jobs/projects in the area, and often working for himself. He ended up at Kramers and Sons where he started to work with his lifelong friend, Steve Grant. Not only did Bob weld professionally but also as a hobby, often welding sculptures and gifting them to friends and family. Bob was also a collector of many “things” including old cars, gas engines, heart shaped rocks, acorns, and pinecones.
Bob is predeceased by his father, Ernest A. Stafford, his mother Dorothy “Dolly” Stafford, his life partner, Adele Hall, also his brother, Joseph Stafford, and nieces Bonnie Frank and Duska “Dusty” Eldridge.

A very special thank you for all of the dedicated and amazing staff at Greenfield Rehab and Nursing Center where Bob spent the last two years of his life.
Bob had many friends who knew they could always count on him. His helpful and kind personality is what he will be remembered by the most. Often, he went out of his way to solve a problem whatever that might be.
In memory of Bob, please pass on kindness and stop to enjoy the small things.
Bob’s wish was to have no calling hours.
