Robert A. Rode, Sr.

Robert A. Rode, Sr., 79, died Tuesday 3/14/23 at home.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 6, 1943, the son of Arthur and Augustine Rode.  Robert attended, and was a graduate of Levittown Memorial High School, on Long Island, NY, class of 1962.  
Robert served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1965.  He was the owner of Able Appliance Service for over 35 years.  
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Dianne (Loretz) Rode. Bob leaves three sons, Robert A. Rode, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of NC, Gregory Rode and his wife Barbara of Heath and James Rode of Erving; two daughters, Christina Ellis and her husband Robert of North Carolina and Dianna Rode Walton of New Zealand; and his brother Arthur Rode, Jr and his wife Rose of NY, Brother-in-law, Robert Loretz and his wife Carolyn of NY, Sister-in-law, Claudette Baker of VA, sixteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 3/23 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield.  Private burial will be held in the spring in Heath. 
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.
