It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Beck Sr., better known as Bob, on Tuesday, October 29th, after a brief stay at Elaine Manor in Hadley Ma.  
Bob was born on October 27, 1942, and was married to his wife, Frances Beck (Furtado) for 61 years. Frances passed away in February of 2023.  They were lifelong residents of Lake Pleasant MA and raised their family there. They had four children: Son Robert Beck Jr and his wife Lisa Beck, daughter Mary Bordeaux and her husband Mark Bordeaux, Lisa Beck-Barsaleau and husband Craig Barsaleau, son Scott Beck and partner Jody Bagdonas.  He was blessed with ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Bob was born to Ellen M. Miner and Lancelot J Beck.  He has two surviving sisters, Mary Glazier and Elizabeth (Betty) Lyons. Passing before him, Bob had two sisters Wendy Beck and Beverly Jarrett.  He had many, many nieces and nephews.
He loved sitting on his porch and eating fudge-sickles and popsicles.  In his younger years Bob enjoyed riding bicycles, rollerblading, chip and put, step ball and dodge ball with his family.  He enjoyed bowling and archery and also raced Volkswagen Bugs in Hinsdale, NH with his brother in-laws and sister in-laws. 
He worked most his life as a Stationary Fireman.  He worked both at Tapioca in Erving and the University of Massachusetts. Most of his years he worked at Millers Falls Paper which was sold to International Paper.  After the paper mill closed, he went to work for Rugg Lumber in Greenfield, MA and then to RK Miles.  He retired from RK Miles and then went to help his son at Beck’s Automotive.   
Services have been undetermined at this time. Bob’s remains will be buried at Highland Cemetery in Millers Falls, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society. Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
