Robert H. Barnes Jr.

Robert H. Barnes Jr, 74, a resident of Poet's Seat Health Care died Friday (3-26-21) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
Bob was born in Turners Falls on August 19,1946. He attended local schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School class of 1964.
He worked for Strathmore Paper Company for 25 years and at Light Life Foods for 10 years in their shipping department retiring in 2004.
Bob served in the US Army National Guard. He enjoyed motorcycling, hunting and was an avid fisherman and loved fishing for walleyes on the Connecticut River. Prior to his declining health Bob was a very active member of the Turners Falls Rod and Gun Club and was often seen working in the kitchen at many dinners. He spent 19 wonderful years married to the love of his life Taffy Barnes who passed away in 2003.
Bob is survived by his daughter Tracy Miller and her husband Brian of Turners Falls, his daughter Samantha Winchester of Chesterfield, NH, his daughter Melissa Wilder and her husband David of Wendell, his son David Fisher and his partner Erin Stacy of Montague, his son Richard Fisher and his partner Raven Torrey of Brattleboro, VT. Bob also leaves his grandchildren: Amanda Vigue, Breanna & Brittany Miller, Pember Kirkwood, Drew & Matt Winchester, Ashley, Morgan, Cameron and Keagan Fisher, Victoria Meuse, Aaron Richardson, Nicole & Trae Fisher, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife Sylvia "Taffy" (Aubrey) Barnes, Bob was predeceased by his parents Bernice (Dubreuil) Vlach in 2016 and Rudy Vlach in 2014 and his brother Bruce Barnes in 2006.
A memorial service for Bob will be held Saturday April 17, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Turners Falls Rod and Gun Club 15 Deep Hole Dr. Turners Falls, MA.
