Rita (Kloss) Healey Poulin, 92, of West Street, Greenfield died Friday 9/17/21 at home, one month shy of her 93 birthday. She was born in Bristol, CT on October 17, 1928, the daughter of John and Eveline (Martin) Kloss of Bristol, CT. Rita was a graduate of Plainville High School in Plainville, CT Class of 1947. She moved to Colrain in the early ’70's and then later moved to Greenfield in 1984, where she worked at the CETA office for a short time. She then went on to the Salvation Army Thrift Store where she was manager for nine years until her retirement in 1993. As a hobby, she caned chairs and greatly enjoyed going to tag sales, flea markets & thrift stores with her daughter Tracy.
Rita leaves two daughters, Tracy Ann (Poulin) Walter and her husband Dale of Jaffrey, NH and Kathleen (Healey) Nielsen and her husband Erik of Lawrenceville, GA; grandsons, Martin and Kenneth, daughter in-law Mary Healey Crescenzi; grandchildren Matthew & Caitlin. Her son, Clinton Healey III predeceased her in 2006 of a brain tumor. She also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren, three nephews, Wayne, William and Thomas Halsdorf of Bristol, CT. & a dear friend Jim Campbell of Greenfield.
Rita was predeceased by a brother, John Kloss of Avon, CT and a sister, Elizabeth (Kloss) Halsdorf.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 10/23 at 2pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
