Richard H. Provost, 85, of Lovers Lane died Wednesday May 4, 2022 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield. He was born in Greenfield on December 20, 1936, the son of John and Mary (Densky) Provost. Richard attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School, where he excelled in Varsity Football and Basketball. He continued his education at Goddard, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree as an Art Major.
Richard was a Medical Assistant in the United States Army, stationed at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Colorado.
Richard was the corporate director of graphic arts for the Erving Paper Mill where he developed the 4 color screen printing process. He then opened R&D Graphics in Turners Falls.
He loved fishing and taking many trips to Canada with his brothers and friends. Richard loved dogs and was an avid follower of politics. Family was most important and he loved family gatherings.
Richard was married to Jane Fleury for seventeen years, with whom he had two sons with that he was very proud of, Adam J. Provost and Stuart R. Provost; his grandson, that he loved spending time with and loved very much, Jacob Provost; a sister, Barbara Green of Turners Falls; two sister in laws, Marcia Provost of Leyden and Georgie Provost of Turners Falls; and many nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday 5/19 at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Turners Falls.
There will be no calling hours.
