Rachael Lynn Banning, 35, of Maple Street died Wednesday June 26, 2024 at home.  She was born in Greenfield on October 26, 1988, the daughter of Alan and Cynthia (Drew) Banning. Rachael attended local schools in Turners Falls and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 2007.  She continued her education at Greenfield Community College. 
Throughout her life, Rachael found joy in a myriad of crafts, with crochet being her true passion. She crafted countless blankets, each one a testament to her creativity and skill. Beyond her crafts, she nurtured a thriving collection of houseplants and gardens. Her love for nature extended to the beach, particularly York Beach, ME, where she found solace. Her hobbies were not just pastimes, but a reflection of a life beautifully lived. 
In the last 4 years, she found comfort, joy and love in being an aunt to her nephew Ezekiel Leon. Her favorite times were spent reading to him and watching his vivid imagination. 
In Rachael’s memory we encourage everyone, especially young women with a family history, to prioritize their health and undergo regular breast cancer screenings. 
Among her survivors, Rachael leaves her parents, Al and Cyndi Banning of Turners Falls; two sisters, Emma Rogowski, her husband Matthew and their son, Ezekiel Leon of Bernardston and Casey Banning of Turners Falls; her best friend, Boola Giordano; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday 8/3/24 from 1-4 PM at her home, 5 Maple St. Turners Falls, MA 01376.
