Patrick Viencek Obituary

Patrick S. Viencek I, 52, of Garnett Hill Road, Athol, died unexpectedly Friday 10/15/2021.  He was born in Conway on April 8, 1969, but resided most of his life in Bernardston, MA; the son of Maryon Viencek II and Dorothy (Morris) Viencek.  He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Franklin County Technical High School Class of 1987.
He was a laborer for the Laborer’s Union for many years. Patrick was actively involved in youth sports in the local community coaching football, basketball and baseball teams. He loved to watch how people grew on and off the field and always saw his role as more than just coaching the game, especially for his son, Pat. When he wasn’t coaching you would still see him being the loudest person on the sidelines or in the corner of the field hockey net giving advice to anyone he saw as “his kids”. Patrick raised his family with his high school sweetheart, Jeanine for 31 years. He loved his additional in-law children who he always loved and treated like his own. If you ever asked him he had two daughters and two sons that always kept him smiling. He came from a large family of six children that made it so family events were often and something he cherished as he got to watch all of his nieces and nephews grow up throughout the years. Patrick enjoyed anything New England Sports and would talk to just about anyone who would listen about them, especially his dear friends Donnie, Jamie and Joel.
Patrick leaves behind his favorite little girl and granddaughter, Kayden, who absolutely hung the moon in his eyes and also kept him up to date with all the current trends including teaching him how to use his phone daily. He was also eagerly awaiting the birth of his soon to be grandchild who he lovingly referred to as ‘his baby’ to anyone who asked. Patrick was the person you could always count on to make you laugh, even when you didn’t want to. He was notorious for teaching his children his sarcastic ways, which made their home always filled with laughter and jokes usually at his wife’s expense. As Kayden says it was his family's “favorite tradition”. It’s easiest to just say Patrick left a warmness in everyone’s heart and a smile on their face that will forever be missed.
Among his survivors, Patrick leaves his beloved wife of 31 years, Jeanine (DeMello) Viencek of Athol; a daughter, Gabrielle Sheehan and her husband Michael of Hudson, NH; a son, Patrick Viencek II and his wife Jordan of Greenfield; and his beloved granddaughter, Kayden Viencek (aka BabyBop); four sisters, Deb Tetreault and her husband Dave of Gill, Brenda Olson and her husband Fred of Lake Pleasant, Laura Brosca and her husband Michael of Charlemont and Sharon Bauch and her husband Bill of South Carolina and sister-in-law Barbara Viencek (Maryon). Patrick also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.
Patrick was predeceased by his parents and brother, Maryon Viencek III.
