Nicholas J. Salustri, 82, of Greenfield Road passed away Friday October 20, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Greenfield the son of Vitaliano and Anna (Demeo) (Bresciano) Salustri.
Nick attended local schools and graduated from Greenfield High School. He enlisted in the US Army, serving his country from October 16, 1959, until October 12, 1962, as a Military Police Officer when he was honorably discharged. Nick worked on the track crew for the Guilford Railroad for many years. He was a member of the Greenfield Lodge of Elks, the Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed golf. He was a gentleman farmer at heart having raised cows, goats and chickens.
Nick leaves his wife of 59 years the former Linda Wallin, his son Michael Salustri, his daughter Karen Shippee and her husband Mark and his granddaughters; Taylor Shippee and Leigh Shippee. He also leaves his sister Josephine Bonnette and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Nick was predeceased by his siblings; Mary Konvelski, Palma Smith, Carolyn Majewski, Stephen Bresciano, Vincent Bresciano and Rose Hayes.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 28, 2023 at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St. Greenfield, MA. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
A calling hour will be from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
