Mildred (Zalenski) Isles, 96, passed quietly Wednesday 3/1/23 at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield. She was born in Turners Falls on November 14, 1926, the daughter of Stanley M. and Lenora (Warakas) Zalenski. Milli attended local schools, continuing her education at the Academy of Hairstyling.
Milli was a bookkeeper for GBI Marketing for thirty three years before her retirement. Prior to that, she was a local hairstylist.
Milli was a devout Catholic and very active in her church. She was a Eucharistic Minister at the former Sacred Heart Church in Greenfield and at Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls.
She was all about her family and she was an animal lover, especially her two grand dogs.
Among her survivors, Milli leaves a son, Gregory Isles (Deborah) of Greenfield; a daughter, Susan Isles-Morton (Brian Morton) of Amherst; three granddaughters, Deborah Edwards (Tim), Wendy Isles-Cuddihee (Dick Cuddihee) and Michelle Trudeau (Jeff); six great grandchildren, Stormie Cuddihee, Hannah and Brandon Edwards, Sam (Keltyn), Cassidy, and Kaitlyn Trudeau; two nephews, William and Arthur Archer-Debow of North Adams; two nieces, Maureen of Montana, and Joanne of Greenfield; two special cousins, Barbara Foti and Terri Aitken; A cousin Nancy; close friends Marguerite Noga, Tom Kerner, Efrain Santos and Chris Eagan; and several nieces and nephews from the Isles side of the family.
Milli was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chester F. Isles who passed away in 1992; two sisters, Helen Gochinski and Janet Dufraine; an aunt, Toni Aitken; two nephews, Michael, and Peter Dufraine; and a very special nephew, Rick Dufraine, who brought Subway grinders on Mondays for Milli and he to enjoy together, along with good conversation and endless stories.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 3/11 at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Greenfield.
A calling hour will be held Saturday morning (3/11) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.
