Michael V. Lapinski

Michael V. Lapinski, 74, of Lockes Village Road passed away Wednesday March 8, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born April 16, 1948, the son of Vincent and Frances (Dodge) Lapinski. Mike attended local schools. He retired from UMASS maintenance department after many years.               
Mike was a lifetime member of the Turners Falls Rod and Gun. As an avid sportsman he enjoyed hunting with family and friends and fishing in Canada and was quite a storyteller. He loved his family, his cats and his log home, cooking riding his Triumph motorcycle and adventures with his cousins. Mike was a MacGiver when it came to building and fixing anything. He fed most wild animals in his back yard, from bears, turkeys, chipmunks, raccoons, foxes, squirrels and birds. He took pictures and shared them with everyone’s business he went to. If you saw a picture of an eagle or bear, it was probably his.
Mike leaves his wife of almost 50 years Bernardine “Bernie” (Lelito) Lapinski, his mother Frances Lapinski of Montague, his siblings, Debra Lapinski of Erving, Jeffrey Lapinski of Montague and Sandra Ambo and her husband Stanley of Wendell. He also leaves his niece and God daughter Jade Sumner of Montague and too many cousins to count.
Services will be held Thursday March 16, 2023, at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10 AM until service time.
Memorial contribution may be made to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Regional Dog Shelter, 10 Sandy Lane Turners Fall, MA 01376.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
