Michael S. Gove

Michael S. Gove, 53, of Kenwood Street died Saturday 4/30/22 at the Holyoke Hospital.  He was born in Montague on January 17, 1969, the son of Harry and Margaret (Cerrato) Gove.  Michael attended local schools in Montague and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1987.  
Mike previously was employed at Judd Wire.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and was an accomplished flyfisher and experienced fly tier.  Mike was happiest being in the woods with nature.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  One of Mike’s favorite pastimes was taking care of the Greenfield Minor League fields. 
Mike was a call fireman for Turners Falls, Greenfield and Colrain for a period of time.  He was a member of the Millers Falls Beagle Club, The Leyden Rifle Range and Trouts Unlimited.
Among his survivors, Mike leaves his parents Harry and Margaret Gove of Turners Falls; a sister, Michelle Rowe and her husband David; a brother, Scott Gove and his wife Lisa; nieces and nephews to whom meant the world to Mike, Andrew Gove, and Olivia and Tanner Rowe; aunts, Carole Shults and Mary Cinelli; an uncle, Felix Cerrato and several cousins.  Mike also leaves his beloved chocolate lab, Miya.
Mike was predeceased by his grandparents, Rockwell and Lillian Gove and Felix and Rita Cerrato and his uncle, John Cerrato.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 5/12 at 9:15am from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls followed by a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Turners Falls. 
Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
