Maxine Eloise (Newhouse) Davis, 103, of Park Villa passed peacefully into the hands of the lord on Saturday 11/9/24 at home. She was born in McIntire, IA on October 5, 1921, the daughter of Mayo and Genevieve (Julius) Newhouse.
Maxine retired from UMass Amherst after 35 years in food service. She was the oldest resident of Montague and was recently presented with the Golden Cane. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed traveling, jigsaw puzzles and bowling. She loved being fashionable and was happiest when with her family.
Among her survivors, Maxine leaves her daughters, Brenda Newhouse, Cynthia (Richard) Boissonneault, Audrey Ward (Partner Jeff Sinclair) and Debra Bulman; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Audrey Oulman from Iowa along with many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was predeceased by two daughters, Carolyn Baker and Marie Davis; a sister, Darline Tate; and brothers, Leslie, Darrell, Paul, Glendale and William Newhouse.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday 11/23/24 at 10AM at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 147 Main St., Northfield. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Millers Falls.
