Mary Anna (Wolfram) Stokarski passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 31, 2024. 
Mary was born May 15th, 1945, as the second of nine children to Norman and Virginia (Tuttle) Wolfram in Greenfield, MA. She graduated from Frontier Regional School in 1963. Married Stanley P. Stokarski Jr. on June 6, 1964. During her high school years, she was a majorette and worked at the Deerfield Pharmacy. As a senior she began working at Deerfield Plastics, and worked for the company four different times during her career. Thank you to the Barker family for all their support and education through the years, providing the opportunity for Mary to become a computer programmer. When her children were young, she started working as a secretary for the Civil Defense Department at UMASS. Mary worked for United Engineers and eventually Lunt Silversmiths. She owned Auntie Mame’s Cellar Ceramic Studio for many years. At two different points in her life, Mary worked for the Town of Deerfield as the town clerk, treasurer, and tax collector. She eventually retired from that position December 31, 2013. For 30 years she was a justice of peace and performed many marriages for the community and family alike. For 25 years she was an EMT, working alongside her husband and brothers. She loved working with all the townspeople. 
Mary was heavily involved in the community. She served on many committees, such as the Finance Committee, South Deerfield Women’s Club (President), Deerfield Finance Committee, Holy Family Roman Catholic Church Finance Committee, Adopt a Family, and the South Deerfield Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary which sponsored the notorious apple pie festivals and craft fair. She also started the SDFD Fire Explorers, which was associated with the Boy Scouts of America. She was a volunteer with Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s auxiliary board, where you could often find her in the gift shop or pushing a wheelchair for a surgical patient. She was secretary for Ashfield Community Golf Course. She served on the County Retirement Board until the day she passed.
While going above and beyond for the community through her career and after retirement, Mary enjoyed all the special times with family, especially her four great-grandchildren: Lily, Wyatt, Holden, and Walker. Survivors include her husband of 60 years Stanley P. Stokarski Jr., their three children Virginia (Jini) and Steve Kolakoski, Susan and Ernie Zuraw, and Paul and Crystal Stokarski. Six grandchildren: Michael (Sara), Kevin (Kayla), Kaitlyn (Brett), Sara, Danielle and Adam. Brothers and Sisters: David (Mary), Virginia (Randi) Poirier (John), Jason (Debbie) Wolfram, and Bobbi Rae and Jon Marguet. Mary was the matriarch of her family, often known as Mema or Auntie Mame to family and friends. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws (Dot and Margie), and step siblings - all of whom she loved dearly. Also, we cannot forget her beloved dog, Sophie. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Norene, Judi, Norman D and Dana. 
The family would like to thank Amedisys nurses and Compassus Hospice nurses for their compassion and wonderful care throughout Mary’s illness.
Services will be held Thursday November 7, 2024 at 9 AM from the Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St. Greenfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. 
Calling hours will be held Wednesday November 6, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home in Greenfield.
