Mary Killay

Greenfield, MA - Mary Killay of Greenfield, MA, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Denver, CO on November 4, 2022, surrounded by all her children, some of her grandchildren, and her great-grandchild. She was 73 years old.

Mary was born on September 20, 1949, to Barbara and Robert Killay, and grew up in Greenfield, MA. Mary was the beloved sister of Margaret Doran and Robert Killay and was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Barbara Lavin and Kathryn Booker. She was a loving mother to her children, Judith Savage of Palm Desert, CA, Harly Savage of Long Beach, CA, David Wilson of Shirley, MA, Kevin Wilson of Denver, CO, and Christin Arevalo of Gilbert, AZ. She was also a proud grandmother to Kierstyn, Logan, and Gabriel from Judith, Jared, Luccas, and Victoria from Christin, and Talan and Raya from Harly. She was a great-grandmother to Colton from Kierstyn. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her family first, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love and support.

Mary was a true free spirit; she was always available to support anyone in need. Her family and friends will remember her for her warmth, generosity, and love.

Mary was a creative and caring soul. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a kind heart, a contagious laugh that could light up any room, and she would engage in conversation with everyone whose path she crossed. Mary could be found very comfortably reading a book or astrology, or watching the news with a good cup, or even a bad cup of coffee nearby. Traveling and seeing the world was a passion of hers, and she drove cross-country several times to spend time with her children. Mary always looked forward to a good blizzard or storm, and the ocean was a place of peace for her.

A service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 3 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenfield, MA. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
