Mary A. Choleva, 88, formerly of 31 Grove Street passed away Wednesday, February 7th. At the time of her passing, Mary was living in Mooresville, NC with her son David and daughter-in-law Christine.  Mary was born in Montague, April 9th 1935, the daughter of Howard Marlowe and Pearl Brown (Boivin). She graduated from Turners Falls High School class of 1952. Mary also attended and graduated from the Franklin County School of Nursing.
For over 40 years Mary held various nursing positions before retiring as an OBGYN nurse at Franklin Medical Center in 2000.  For many years, Mary served as a member of the Turners Falls Young Women's Club and was a long time member of St. Kazimierz Society.
Mary enjoyed her days with her friends at the Shady Glen, Keno at Scotty's, Casino trips, Wally World trips with her sister Nancy and "The Shot of Day" with her family.  Family was the most important thing in Mary's life, especially her grandson's Kyle and Alec.
Mary leaves her son David, her daughter-in-law Christine, grandson Kyle and partner David Lei, Alec and girlfriend Vanessa, her sister Nancy, nephews - Mark Galvis, Gary Sak, Todd Marlowe, John and wife Tammy Choleva, Charlie and wife Kris Choleva and Michael Shensky, nieces - Jackie Galvis, Charlene and husband Mark Langenback, Denise and husband Orane, Michelle Shensky, Tammy Evans, Tonya Fountain and husband Ron.  She also leaves great nieces and nephews, Reagan, Haley & Jordyn Fiske, Megan Aldrich, Sammy Choleva, Ronald, Jack and Ashlee Fountain. Mary also leaves her sister-in-law Charlotte Choleva.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Stanley on May 13th, 2010, brother Lawrence Marlowe, sister and brother in laws - Genevieve "Jean" & Frank Galvis, Julianna "Babe" Sak, Connie & Chester Galvis, Phyllis Choleva and Dennis Choleva
The Celebration of Life and calling hours will be held at later time and date in May at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square followed by burial in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery.
