Mark "Mr. Magoo" Anthony Stevens peacefully left this world on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his home, with Carol Stevens and Cindy Ledger by his side, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Greenfield, MA on March 3, 1961.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Stevens, and three sons from his first marriage to Pamela Stevens: Alexander, Samuel (and his wife Emily), and Benjamin (with Samantha Curtis and their son Kai Mayo). With Carol, he cherished two daughters, Maryanne and Heather George, and grandchildren: Angelina George, Dangelo Brown, Alea Stevens, Allissa Battistoni. His sisters in-law Gail Stone, Bonnie (Richard) Beaver, Maryjane Strachan, Janet Arnold, Joan McAdoo, Deb Grosberg and Linda Grosberg and his brothers in-law Robert McAdoo and Butch McAdoo.
 Mark's surviving siblings include sisters Linda (John Carey), Helen (Pete Doolittle), and Mary (Thomas Lenois), and brothers Butchie (Tammy) and Reginald Stevens. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews, including his favorite niece, Dawn Pfisterer, and many great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John and Evelyn Stevens, and siblings Johnny Stevens, Nancy Martinoski, and Joanne Stevens, Mark was also the proud grandfather of three angel grandbabies: Hudson, Milo, and Peyton.

A graduate of Franklin County Technical School, Class of 1980, Mark had worked at CAP Auto Parts.  Mark dedicated 37 years to the Montague Department of Public Works, retiring in 2024 as Tree Warden. Known for his calm demeanor and eagerness to help others, Mark's impact was deeply felt by his colleagues, friends, and family. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and baking. He cherished his second home in Newfane, Vermont, where he and Carol spent summers with their Kenollie Village family, creating a beautiful, welcoming space. Mark was a member of St. Stans and The Moose Club.  

Special support from Tammy Baxter and the immense love from everyone in Montague and nearby communities helped the family during this time. Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, but making the stars a little brighter. You’ve joined our three little stars up in the sky and get to continue being the best papa there is. We love you always, Sam and Emily.

Calling hours will be held Friday October 25, 2024 from 4-6 PM at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Funeral Home, Turners Falls, MA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 26, 2024 at the funeral home at 11 AM. An additional calling hour will be held from 10 AM until service time.
