Mark A. Capuano

Mark A. Capuano, 66, of Sugarloaf Street died Wednesday 10/4/23 at home.  He was born in Boston, MA on April 23, 1957, the son of Peter and Josephine (Bordonaro) Capuano.  Mark was proud to grow up in the North End, often taking family on tours of his old stomping grounds.   Mark was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School Class of 1975.  He continued his education at Northeastern University and earned his MBA from Suffolk University.

He was a Banker for United Bank in West Springfield for many years and moved on to work for Shatswell Macleod as Director of Compliance Services until he retired in January of 2023.  An adopted son of South Deerfield, he served on the Deerfield Elementary School Committee and the Deerfield Recreation Department committee for several years.

He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed attending many sporting events throughout the years.  He could be found on the sidelines coaching or in the bleachers watching his three boys while they grew up.  He and his wife also enjoyed many cruises with family as well as numerous vacations in Sunset Beach, NC.

Besides his beloved wife of forty years, Diana (Malczynski) Capuano, Mark leaves three sons, Stephen Capuano and his wife Emily of Jenkintown, PA; Daniel Capuano of South Deerfield; and Timothy Capuano and his wife Jacquelyn of South Deerfield; three grandchildren, Collin, Peter and Rae; a sister, Joanne Brennan and her husband Robert of Moultonborough, NH; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mark was predeceased by his brother, Robert Capuano.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, 10/8 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.  The family will be holding a private celebration of life.
