Marjorie (Sevigny) Payne

TURNERS FALLS -- Marjorie L. (Sevigny) Payne, 80, of Turners Falls, died April 15, 2014 at home.  Born August 19, 1933, in Braintree, Massachusetts, Marjorie was the daughter of Wilfred A. and Rena H. (Whittam) Sevigny of East Weymouth. She was a 1951 graduate of Weymouth High School and graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1987.  On June 8, 1955 Marjorie married William L. Payne of South Weymouth, Massachusetts. Besides her husband of nearly 59 years, she leaves behind her four children: Katherine L. Huber of Esmont, Virginia, W. Douglas Payne of Mercer Island, Washington, Kenneth A. Payne of Perth, Australia, and Richard M. Payne of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Marjorie is also survived by two of her brothers: Wilfred Sevigny of East Weymouth, Massachusetts and Russell Sevigny of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and several nieces and nephews.  After her graduation from East Bridgewater State College, Marjorie worked in the publishing field for Klewer Academic Publishers and Allyn & Bacon Inc., before retiring to raise Shetland sheep in Colrain, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Turners Falls at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. The Rev. Charles DiMascola will be the celebrant. Burial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery will follow the Mass.  Memorial gifts may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376 or to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway Street, Greenfield, MA 01301

Arrangements are under the direction of Kostanski Funeral Home in Turners Falls.
