Marilyn Currier Obituary

Marilyn Currier, 76, of Wildwood Ave died Wednesday 4/23/25 at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.  She was born on January 4, 1949, the youngest daughter of Eugene and Evelyn (Babineau) Currier.  She attended local schools and was a graduate of Greenfield High School, Class of 1967.
In her younger years, Marilyn worked for the J.H. Smith Company and the Visiting Nurses Association. She then had a twenty-six-year career with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2013.
Marilyn enjoyed gardening, dancing, collecting porcelain dolls, “The Big Bang Theory” tv show, and watching the great football quarterbacks Joe Montana and Tom Brady.
She enjoyed numerous vacations to Laconia, NH and Wells, ME with family and with longtime friend, Anita Morris.
Marilyn had a great love of music and felt most of the best singers and groups of Country and Rock and Roll music were from the 1960s through the 1990s.  Steve Perry of “Journey” was her “absolute” favorite singer.  She was thrilled when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
Marilyn especially loved spending time with her siblings and nieces and nephews.  She cherished the love and laughter they brought to her life.  She took great joy in watching them grow and following their many accomplishments.  Marilyn also enjoyed all the fun times she had caring for Piper, Chick and Lynne’s sweet Bichon.
Among her survivors, she leaves her siblings, Jean LaValley of Keene, NH, Chick Currier and his wife Lynne of Kennebunk, ME and Paul Currier and his wife Judy of Bangor, ME; thirteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, sister Kathleen Otto, brother Michael Currier and nephew Nathan Currier.
A memorial service will be held Thursday 5/8 at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.
A calling hour will be held Thursday morning from 10am until the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Munson Street, Suite 103, Greenfield, MA 01301.
