Marcia (Cookish) Abrahamson

Marcia (Cookish) Abrahamson, 93, entered Eternal Life to be reunited with her husband Stanton, on August 28, 2023. She was born in North Adams, MA on February 23, 1930, the adored daughter of the late Edward and Fanny (Breslow) Cookish. 
Marcia graduated from Drury High School in North Adams, MA, and then continued her education at American International College. 
Marcia married Stanton in 1952 and they spent 67 wonderful years together. They took over the Abrahamson family business, Home Furnishing Company, Greenfield MA, and they ran the business for 65 years, along with their children. 
Marcia loved traveling with her family. They went on many adventures together and loved sailing to new destinations on cruises. Marcia spent many summers in Cape Cod with her children and grandchildren. Marcia also loved spending time with her friends, playing cards, getting her hair and nails done, and watching her beloved Red Sox. She taught Sunday School for many years at the Temple Israel, was a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Israel, and was a board member of the Hadassah group. However, Marcia loved nothing more than to spend time with her family, and especially, watch her cherished great grandchildren grow up. 
Marcia will be sadly missed by her daughter, Debi Roberts and her husband John, of Florida, her son Jeffrey Abrahamson and his fiancé Barbara, of East Longmeadow, her grandson Daniel Abrahamson, of Westfield, her grandson Joshua Roberts and his wife Kelly, of Florida, her grandson Jeremy Abrahamson and his wife Allie, of Agawam, and her granddaughter Stephanie Roberts and her fiancé Chris, of Florida. Marcia also leaves her precious great grandchildren, Cole, Justin, Sloane, and Drew. 
Marcia is predeceased by her father Edward Cookish, her mother Fanny Cookish, her husband Stanton Abrahamson, her brother Martin Cookish, and her sister Edith (Boliton) Cookish. 
Marcia’s funeral service will be Monday, September 4, 2023, at 11:00 in the morning at Temple Israel, 27 Pierce Street, Greenfield MA, followed by the burial at Temple Israel Cemetery, 276 Log Plain Road East, Greenfield MA.  The reception will be private.
