Marcella Giguere Obituary

Marcella C. (Englehardt) Giguere, 73, of 30 Chestnut Street died unexpectedly Monday 5/2/22 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.  She was born in Greenfield on May 12, 1948, the daughter of Leo and Josephine (Noska) Englehardt.  Marcella attended Newton Street Elementary School in Greenfield, where she and her sister walked to their nearby home for their  lunch hour each day.  Marcy was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1966.
As a young adult, Marcy was a secretary for the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and later worked part-time clerical jobs at Arctic Refrigeration Co, Hallmark in Turners Falls, and for a local attorney.
Marcella married her high school sweetheart Stevan at Holy Trinity Church on April 20, 1968.  They shared 50 years of marriage together.  She traveled to Germany with her young child to live with her husband while he was stationed there during his military service.
She was a caring homemaker, dedicating herself to raising and taking care of her family, whom she loved dearly. With her sister Terri, she shared caregiving for her mother and aunts for many years during their extended periods of illness, helping them to stay in the comfort of home.
Marcy had a talent for sewing, creating flower girl dresses to match the bridesmaid gowns of her sister and sister-in-laws’ weddings. She made custom curtains for her home, and whipped up many Halloween costumes for her family. She knew her way around in the garden and appreciated the beauty of flowers and nature.  She enjoyed bird watching and could always be relied upon for the latest update of bird activity.  Marcy enjoyed many years of family trips to the ocean and loved sitting on the beach listening to the crashing waves and watching the tides. She always stopped at her favorite seafood restaurant before heading home.
She loved attending the music, theater, dance, sporting events and ceremonies of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was very supportive.
Among her survivors, Marcella leaves a son, Michael Giguere of Turners Falls;  two daughters, Alecia Bardwell and her husband Tony of Greenfield and Stacey Giguere of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Morgan Bardwell, Wayde Bardwell and Justin Giguere; a sister, Theresa “Terri” Renaud and her husband Jim of Greenfield; two nephews, Troy and Jeff Renaud; a niece, Jolene Renaud; and eight great nieces and nephews, William, Caleb, Mariah, Oliver, Jacob, Quincy, Kayla and Esme.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stevan in January 2019, both of her parents, and two special aunts, Helen and Anna.  May she continue watching over her family as a guardian angel,  reunited with her lost loved ones in Heaven.
