Lucille A. (Tomaus) Chiapputi Obituary

Lucille A. (Tomaus) Chiapputi, 79, of Avery Circle passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Montague on April 17, 1945, the daughter of Anthony and Katherine (Dejnak) Tomaus.  Lucille attended local schools and graduated from Greenfield High School.

She was a supervisor for J.H. Smith Company for many years retiring in 2007. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, especially Cribbage, crossword puzzles and playing Bingo once a week at the Moose Club. Other interests include being an avid 49er’s Fan, Yahtzee, bird watching, casino trips, cooking, making pierogi’s every December with her family, shopping with her girls, but most of all she loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids, as they were the joys of her life.

Lucille is survived by her children; Ann York and her husband Gary, Tracey Kirley and her husband Wayne, Melinda Knight and her husband Charles and Mary Dassatti. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Brittany York, Nicholas York and his girlfriend Jordan Walsh, Joshua Kirley and his girlfriend Samantha Martinez, Joseph Kirley, Samuel Knight, Jacob Knight, and Charley Knight along with her siblings; Terri Braun (TeeTee) and her husband Robert, their two daughters Keli Krusiewski and Bobbi Galway, Jane Butynski, her husband Paul, and their two sons Jason and Todd. Also, Letty Torres (Scott) who she considered another loving daughter. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews as well as close friends Sandy Coller, Terry Mayo Phelps, DeeDee Fuller and the rest of her bingo family.

Besides her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her husband Michael Chiapputi, as well as her very close friend Donald Renfrew.

The family would like to thank the team of doctors and nurses in the ICU at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for the loving care that they provided in Lucille’s final days.

Services for Lucille will be held Thursday August 22, 2024.  A calling hour will be held at 10 AM until service time at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls, MA. Burial will follow at Green River Cemetery in Greenfield, MA.
