Lorraine A. Carey

          Lorraine A. Carey, 76, passed away Wednesday June 10, 2026, at home. She was born in Montague City, MA on January 1, 1950, the daughter of Earl and Elizabeth (Kingsbury) Carey. Lorraine attended local schools and graduated from Amherst High School. She attended Berkshire Christian College, Gordon College and Greenfield Community College where she received her associate degree as a Registered Nurse.
She Worked in the admissions office at Amherst College, then Gordon College. She continued her journey as a nurse working at a hospital in Salem, MA, then moved back to Leverett and worked at Franklin Nursing Home and then Buckley Nursing home.
Lorraine enjoyed quilting, crocheting and traveling to Florida and Maine.
Her survivors include siblings; Jim Carey of South Windsor, CT, Warren Carey of Belchertown and Cheryl Carey of Leverett along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters; Margaret Harvey, Patricia Bartos and Virginia Grant.
A graveside service will be held on July 11, 2026, at 11:00AM at Plainview Cemetery, N. Leverett Rd. Leverett, MA with a reception to follow at North Leverett Baptist Church.
