Lois P. (Newcomb) Zieper Obituary

Lois (Newcomb) Zieper was born in Turners Falls, MA to Herbert Edward Newcomb and Bernice (Warren) Newcomb on November 12, 1930.  Raised in Deerfield, MA on a dairy farm, she attended normal school with her sisters Jane (Newcomb) Drumgool and Mary (Newcomb) Grover, going on to graduate from Sargent College at Boston University with a teaching degree in outdoor education.  
Lois married Henry Samuel Zieper on April 15, 1957, in Deerfield, MA.  Lois was widowed in March 1975.  Lois eventually moved to Anchorage, AK in 1985, where she continued to impact young people as a pre-school teacher.  A cancer survivor, Lois joined her beloved husband on August 20, 2025.
Lois was predeceased by her parents and sisters and is survived by her children Deborah Zieper Belsinger and Mark Edward Zieper, her grandchildren Naomi Belsinger Urquhart (husband William) and Paul Andrew Belsinger, and her great-grandchildren William and Rebekah.  Her extended family included nieces and nephews Kathleen Drumgool, John Drumgool, Ann Drumgool Butynski, Thomas Drumgool, Robert Drumgool, Sharon Drumgool, Paula Drumgool Thane, Andrew Grover, David Grover, and Jeanne Grover as well as their children and grandchildren and many cousins.
Lois is resting at the Kostanski Funeral Home in Greenfield MA until she is placed next to her husband Henry at the Brookside Cemetery in South Deerfield, MA on Thursday September 18, 2025. Prior to her burial there will be a calling hour from 10 AM – 11 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St. Greenfield.
