Lillian E. (Nadeau) Niedbala Obituary
Lillian E. (Nadeau) Niedbala, 98, formerly of Gill, died Thursday 11/23/23 at Regalcare in Greenfield. She was born in Turners Falls on November 19, 1925, the daughter of Dona and Irene (Dube) Nadeau. Lillian attended local schools in Montague and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1944.
A supervisor in the data processing department at T.R.W., she retired after thirty-one years. Lillian was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls.
Lillian will be remembered as the matriarch of her family. She was present at all family functions and gatherings, and she never missed a ball game, recital, or accomplishment of not only her nieces and nephews, but her great nieces and nephews alike. Quick to laugh, she was up for silliness and embraced her playful side. Simultaneously she was ever the lady; she epitomized grace and moved through life with a gentle and loving manner. To know Lillian was to love her.
Among her survivors, Lillian leaves a sister, June Samelson of York, PA; and several nieces and nephews including Barbara Ruscio, Linda Groeber, Carolyn Gwinner, Richard Nadeau, Mark Nadeau, James Nadeau, Roberta Bracken, M.D., Jonathan Samelson, Christine Denison, Lee Denison, Robert Nadeau, Jr., Ronald Nadeau, Michael Nadeau, John Nadeau, Donna Dacey, Carol Conway, Mary Ann Lagimoniere, Faye Ward, John Pappas, and Richard Pappas.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Niedbala Jr. on June 16, 2005; siblings, Rose Daigle in 2012, Marcel Nadeau in 2003, Claire Denison in 2021 and Robert Nadeau in 2018.
A calling hour will be held Saturday 12/2 from 8:30am until 9:30am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Turners Falls.
