Leon Terault Obituary

 Leon Edward (Pepere) Terault of Erving/Millers Falls - passed away on January 27th, 2024, at his home from natural causes. He was 84. Predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis (Boucher) Terault, who passed away in 2004, parents Leon and Ramona Terault of Belchertown; brothers George (Barbara), Ned (Micheline), Roger (Olga), and sisters Lillian (Ed) Honeysett, and Mary (Ron) Alger.

 He leaves behind his big brother and best friend Tom (Betty), loving sister Cecelia (Tim) Aldrich, brother-in-law John (Chris) Boucher, His four children, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Son’s Charlie Emerson of Erving, Roy and Teresa Emerson of Greenfield; along with their daughters and (great-grandchildren). Melissa and Aaron Gerry (Carter and Parker) of Bernardston, Sarah O'Dell (Aidan, Zoe and Makenna) of Colrain, Daughter Cindy Terault and her son Jason (partner Megan) Nilsen of Charlemont; her daughter Samantha Worden (Ava, Ella and Waylon-James) of Northfield, Son Ed and Missy Terault of Millers Falls, their children Evan Terault of Greenfield, Faith, Anna and Brooke of Millers Falls, Kayla and Carlton Choiniere (Ayven) of Leyden, and Niece Tammy and Bob Johnson (Kara, Nicole and Asa) of Greenfield; Along with countless cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom he loved one and all.

He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1963, married the love of his life Phyllis, started his family, worked at several jobs then U-MASS Amherst for 35+ years as a carpenter until he retired. He enjoyed his retirement and family, living at his home of 50 years that he built with the help of his oldest boys Charlie & Roy. Also fishing at the camp, he built in Maine, where he spent much of his time with his dog and confidante Muddy.  He was a kind and generous soul who loved unconditionally. A truly good human being!  The loss is greatly felt by all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace Pepere, you are forever in our hearts.

To honor his wishes there will be no formal services, however, his family will hold an open reception later this year, which will be announced at a later date, for family and friends to gather and celebrate his long and storied life.
