Joseph “Joey” Michael Andrews passed away in his Shelburne, MA home on December 3, 2023. Joseph was born in Greenfield, MA on September 16, 1959 to Mildred “Millie” Patnode and Richard J. Andrews of Greenfield, MA who have predeceased him. He was a stellar athlete and cherished his time on his successful Greenfield High School basketball team, where he graduated in 1978. He had an infectious smile, piercing blue eyes and a heart of gold. Joseph was a longtime brick and stone mason, one of the finest for his craft in Massachusetts and surrounding areas. He was an avid New England sports fan, loved attending local sporting events when his daughters played, as well as going to Boston for professional sporting events and concerts. He also enjoyed fishing, time spent on his slow pitch softball leagues, Polish picnics, and spending time with his family. Joseph prided himself on being a father and a grandpa.
Joseph is survived by his two daughters Jillian Nicolai Andrews & her wife Deisha Moss of Boston, MA, Meaghan J. Towne and her husband Alex W. Towne of Turners Falls, MA, his granddaughter Charlie Mae Towne and grandson Griffin A. Towne of Turners Falls, MA, his longtime partner Missae Recore of Shelburne, MA and her two daughters Tabitha Recore and Jessie Recore, his two brothers, John Andrews and his wife Wendy Andrews of Greenfield, MA, James “Jimmy” Andrews and his wife Marla Andrews of Charlemont, MA, his four sisters, Bonnie Harkins of Amarillo, TX, Betty Dickinson and her husband Bruce “Moose” Dickinson of Greenfield, MA, Michelle Nightingale of Varnville, SC, Georgia Robert and her husband Brion Robert of Longmeadow, MA, his Uncle Charles Rucci and his wife Rosalind Rucci of Greenfield, MA, his Aunt Carol Rucci of TX, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is known and loved by so many more and will surely be missed by his friends and family.
Calling Hours will be Sunday, December 10 from 10:30am-12:30pm at Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield, MA.
