Joseph S. Kucenski, 75, of Pleasant St. passed away Saturday March 8, 2025, at Greenfield Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born in Northampton on July 1, 1949, the son of Joseph and Gladys (Rogoleski) Kucenski. Joe attended local schools and graduated from Smith Vocational School.
He was an US Army Vietnam Veteran, serving his country from 1969-1971 and was a reservist until 1975. He was honorably discharged at the rank of SP-4.
Joe was an automotive mechanic for many years, an assembler at Kollmorgan and lastly a self-employed carpenter for 15 years. He enjoyed photography, attending his sons’ sporting events, riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family.
Joe leaves his wife of almost 50 years, the former Barbara Siwizki, whom he married August 1, 1975. His sons; Mark (Tracy) Kucenski of North Augusta, SC and Brian (Stacey) Kucenski of Whately, grandchildren; Sydnee Land and her husband Cody, Kyle and Mason Kucenski along with his siblings; Elizabeth Marcil, Dorothy Bourassa and John (Jane) Kucenski. Joe also leaves his sister in-law Patricia Sojka and brother in-law Edward (Karen) Siwicki plus several nieces and nephews including his God Daughter Ola Wysocki-Buck and many friends and extended family.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday March 13, 2025, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church 84 K St. Turners Falls. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8;30-9:30 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls.
The family would like to thank the Greenfield VA Clinic and Dr. Boskovic for their care over the years, the Guardian Angels Service, Edin and all the staff at Greenfield Rehabilitation and Care Center and New England Hospice for all their care.
