Jonathan C. Bassett Obituary

Jonathan (Jon) Craig Bassett, 69, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
Born in Greenfield on May 7, 1955, Jon was the son of Ronald and Barbara Bassett. He married Eva Marie Brown in 1984 in Bernardston and was a devoted husband, caring for Eva with love and dedication during her battle with cancer.
Jon spent many years working for the United States Postal Service. He had a passion for coaching his son’s baseball teams, motorcycle rides, cooking, and sharing time with family and friends. Above all, he was a proud father and grandfather who cherished his loved ones.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara; his sons, Craig (Alex) Bassett of Athol and Peter (Carly) Bassett of Bernardston; and his beloved grandchildren, Madison and Dean Bassett. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jim, Andy, Danny, and Jesse; his sisters, Annmarie, Jennifer, and Catherine; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Jon’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life in the spring.
