John Dlugosz Obituary

John was born December 26, 1954, to Joseph and Irene (Christian) Dlugosz and passed away peacefully April 5, 2023, after his long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his son Jacob Dlugosz and his wife Carleigh of Northfield and his daughter Colleen Dlugosz and her partner Joshua Newton. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren Austin McCaffrey, Tyler Newton, Ryan Newton, Emilie Cleveland, Carson Dlugosz and Jacob Dlugosz Jr. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Dlugosz and wife Ellen of Greenfield, along with several nieces and nephews.
John was a longtime resident of Turners Falls and a friend to many. He was well loved by all that knew him. He was truly a native son of the area.
Over the years John had a long and ever changing career. He worked at Deerfield Academy, Couture Bros., Tate’s Painting as well as the Turners Falls VFW and St. Stanislaus.
Along with the joy he had when playing the guitar, he loved watching his grandson’s baseball games and volunteering to be the Easter Bunny for the Montague Parks and Rec for several years. John spent many dedicated years to the Newt Guilbault Baseball League coaching his son and even staying on and volunteering to coach for years after that.
Throughout the years John always looked forward to the time he would get to spend golfing with a couple of his two favorite knuckleheads, Matt Cadran and Frank Cadran.
There will be no calling hours, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
The Dlugosz family would like to express their appreciation to Matt Cadran for helping Cookie through this difficult life.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Newt Guilbault Baseball League of Turners Falls, P.O. Box 189.
