Helen A. (Kikoski) Podlesny

Helen A. (Kikoski) Podlesny, 93, died peacefully Sunday June, 6, 2021 at the Winchester Nursing Center in Winchester, MA. She was born in Hatfield, MA on December 22, 1927, the daughter of John and Anne (Bubrowski) Kikoski. She attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1945. She worked in retail sales at R & R Jewelry and Wilson’s in Greenfield as well as spent over 25 years in the Children’s Department at JCPenney’s in Greenfield and Hadley before her retirement.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. Her many talents included sewing, baking, gardening, knitting, crocheting, canning, and cooking. She enjoyed hosting holidays at her home and was the heart of the family. She had many friends and enjoyed attending Polka dances all around Western, MA. She was a lifetime member of the Polish Club in S.Deerfield and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church. Helen was known for her beautiful smile and kind heart. 
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Podlesny, her eldest son Henry J. Podlesny, and her sister Leona T. (Kikoski) Anderson. She leaves behind four other children, Karen Erman and her husband William of S.Deerfield, Steven Podlesny and his wife Michele of Turners Falls, Mary Jane Gasdia and her husband Domenic of Wakefield, and Jennifer Podlesny of Blaine MN; a brother, John F. Kikoski; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 
A Liturgy of a Christian Burial will be held Friday 6/11 at 9am at Our Lady of Peace Church 90 Seventh St. Turners Falls. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Greenfield.  There will be no calling hours.
