Helen L. (Chagnon) Pearson, 88, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2025, with her children by her side. Born August 25, 1936, to Leah (Lebeau) and Valerien Chagnon, Helen was a lifelong resident of Turners Falls, and a 1954 graduate of Turners Falls High School.
Helen started the first half of her working career in the business office at Montague Machine and retired in 1999 from The Greenfield Recorder after 20 years of service.
Helen’s world revolved around her grandchildren. She filled her family’s homes with beautiful quilts, x stitch and other handmade crafts. Those who knew Helen will remember her as a loving, kind person with a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her children Marc (Nancy E.) Pearson of Tucson, AZ, Nancy (Jeffrey) Terlikoski of Big Fork MT, and Barbara (Wesley) Cady of Greenfield, MA.; she also leaves her grandchildren, Ryan Sena, Corey Pearson, Allison Terlikoski, Nathan Terlikoski, Joshua Cady and Madison Cady; Great Grandchildren, Ava Sena, Natalie Terlikoski, Ella and Oliver Pearson. And long-time family friend Alan Carpenter.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ralph (Mickey) Pearson, sisters Jeannette Sikora and Jeanne Pelletier, and brother Donald Chagnon.
A memorial liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Friday June 27, 2025, at 10AM at Our Lady of Peace Church 90 Seventh St. Turners Falls, MA. Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Turners Falls.
There will be no calling hours.
