Gerald Seibert, 87, passed away May 15, 2023 after a battle with Prostate Cancer.
Gerald was born in Greenfield April 1, 1936, the son of Edward and Beulah (Barrows) Seibert. He went to Greenfield schools, to the Holyoke Junior College for Engineering, and Western New England College for Teaching. He was a High School Math Teacher at Arms Academy and Mahar Regional H.S.
In his love for skiing, he has done every job in the sport: clearing trails for Mt. Mohawk, ski school at Burrington Hill, and Ski Race timing for 42 years at Berkshire East. His sailing adventures took him from an accomplished sailor in the Windham Sailing Club on Harriman Reservoir to winning his class at the 2023, Sailing race to Nantucket in 1984. Along the way building 2 houses in Vernon, VT and Cape Cod, MA. He was always known to be sitting at the end of the bar at Applebee’s, The Crazy Horse, and Bella Notte.
He leaves his children Donald Seibert and the late Nimet (Al-Attas) Seibert, Elizabeth (Seibert) Howes and the late Paul Howes; his wife, former wife and dear friend of 54 years, Carolee Abbott; grandchildren Jennifer Scelsi; Christopher Pride, Katie Seibert, Jenna Seibert, Michael Seibert; great granddaughters Autumn Pride and Jolene Scelsi; and several nieces and nephew.
His brother Edward Seibert and sister Patricia (Seibert) Siegel predeceased him.
A Celebration of Life will be June 10, 2023, 2-4pm at Terrazza Ristorante at The Country Club of Greenfield.
