George D. Glick, 76, of William St. passed away Saturday August 5, 2023. He was born in Chania Greece the son of the late Harry and Ruth Elaine (Adams) Glick.
He graduated from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City prior to serving his nation in the Untied States Marine Corps.
In September of 1966, he volunteered to serve our country and joined the Marines as a Auto Mechanic in the midst of the Vietnam War. While serving our country in Vietnam, he defended against insurgent forces in operations Osceola, Napoleon, Kentucky V, Nesho II, Napoleon Saline, Lancaster II, Osceola II, Rice, Scottland II, and Pegasus. Prior to his separation, he earned the rank of Sergeant and was awarded a Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Medal, nine Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, Navy Unit Commendation, the Navy Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross for valorous combat achievement
He and his late wife Janet, moved to the Shelburne Falls area in the late 1990’s where he used his skills and attention to detail to become a machinist for GTD for many years prior to reaching retirement.
He leaves his son Dan and his wife Mandy, and three grandchildren Paiden, Gabriel, and Caleb. His sister Litsa and niece Persefoni Maladakis, his cousin Mary Deliyianni, brother Kenneth Glick and the Glick family in Utah, and his closest dear friends Vassilious Arvanitis and his family, Steve, John, and Dennis.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday August 10,2023 at 1 PM at Arms Cemetery in Shelburne Falls.
