Frank Edward Hill, 89, passed away at home on Monday, January 27th, 2025.  He was born on November 5, 1935 to John Hill and Lylda M. Hill (Leonard). 
He graduated from Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls in 1953.  He then went to work for the Town of Buckland as a Truck Driver from 1953 – 1954. After that, he joined the United States Air Force on July 26, 1954.  Frank attended Basic Training at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, NY. Once he completed Basic Training, he was assigned to the 4713th ECM Squadron under Air Defense Command which flew B29 and B25 bomber aircraft at Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY as an Operations Specialist. After serving for four years, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was Honorably Discharged in July of 1958.
From 1958-1962 Frank worked at Winthmore Stores in Buckland and South Deerfield. He then went to work for Stotz Electric as the Office Manager for a period of years. Frank also worked as the General Accounting Supervisor for America Type Foundry in Franklin, Tennessee.  
In 1979, Frank was hired as a Refrigeration Tech at Greenfield Community College and while employed there Frank obtained his Journeyman’s Electrician’s License and retired as a Utility Plant Operator in 1997.  
Frank married Lois Ann O’Connor (Balser) on July 30th, 1960, and they were married for 60 years until she passed on March 15, 2021. He leaves his one and only loving daughter Patty Kostanski (Barry).  Patty deserves special recognition for the care she provided for Frank all of these years, especially after Lois had passed. He had two granddaughters, Jennifer Davenport (Clayton) and Katharine Tiedemann (Craig).  Frank had four great-grandchildren who thought the world of him: Lindsay & Caitlyn Davenport and Emma & Olivia Tiedemann. Besides his mother and father, he was pre-deceased by his sister Gloria Hill and brother James Hill.
Frank’s hobbies included hunting, fishing woodworking, painting and puzzles. His most cherished times were watching Patriot’s football games with the usual Sunday crew at his son-in-law’s “Sports Bar”.  Frank spent most of his time with his family enjoying holiday events, BBQ’s, and celebrations.  He loved seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and participate in activities.
There are no calling hours and services will be private.
